So, it’s been a while. Mighty Women of Science has been published! We had a launch night in Waterstones Sauchiehall Street on the 14th of June. It was amazing, and super busy. The lovely Laura Waddell from Freight Books came to interview Fiona, Kate and I about the book. Waterstones told us 145 people showed up for the event, and was one of their busiest graphic novel launches yet. There were a lot of familiar faces in the crowd and it was lovely to finally see the book in print (and not just in my head.)
Lots of people bought their own copy on the launch night, and as of yesterday Mighty Women of Science is available in bookstores and comic shops across the UK. My favourite two fans so far were two wee girls who asked to have their pictures taken with us. One of them was even writing her own comic, and it sounded like something I’d definitely read. It’s cool to think we might inspire people to create their own things.
The 2-3rd of July was Glasgow Comic Con. It was my third year at the event, but my first year with a comic that was properly published (and not stapled together and printed on the cheapest paper I could find) I took part in a few different talks, and met some really amazing people. I went from being utterly terrified of talking in front of people to feeling totally old hat at it in the course of a week!

I’m so happy to be able to share the Mighty Women of Science book with people, it’s been my baby for so long, and now it’s finally out there in the world. If you get your hands on a copy, please get in touch. I’d be delighted to hear from you.
